Beating The Odds
(Insurance)
The odds are that the longer you drive
without having an accident
the more likely you are to have one.
Here are some suggestions on how to
beat the odds.
so hopefully your number won't come
up.
1. Limit left
turns, except at a left-turn signal, to a
minimum. Make right turns and go with the
flow.
Look at least 3 times.
2. Never be the first through an intersection
when the
light changes. If you're
alone don't jump the light.
Wait a few seconds.
3. Never drive along either side of a Big
Rig. Pass or
get behind.
4. Back up very slowly
so you have time to correct if
warned.
5. Signal turns well
before you turn.
6. Pick a lane and stay
in it. ( As much as is possible )
7. Gauge your speed on
the cars 5 or 10 ahead and on
the one directly in front
8. Try to drive in empty spots
when you can.
9. Don't hurry
anywhere. They'll get over it.
10. Drive fast and drive slow when
either is called for.
Neither is always safe. All is
possible in due time.
11. Don't drive beyond your or your vehicles capabilities,
visual, perceptive or tactile.
12. When in doubt, there's always the side
of
the road.
Pull over
and figure it out.
13. Forgive and help correct mistakes.
We all make
'em.
14. Lay off the horn 99.9%.
It causes more problems
than it solves.
15. Don't believe turn
signals until the wheels turn.
16. Merge
is not a synonym for battle!
17. Yellow
does not mean speed up.
18. Middle finger is
only for scratching.
